What Does It Cost
03:03
|
|||
It’s the work of a darkened overpass
It’s the work of a thief in the night
It’s the worth of a love that just won't last
Calling out
Now you are so lost I
Don’t know where to begin
Or what it costs
What does it cost to win
It's the burn of the one you can't get past
It's the turn of the leaves overnight
If the words of the maker come too fast
Wait it out, wait it out
How we got so lost I
Don’t know but I still fight
What does it cost
What does it cost to be right
Run the water through your hands
While you're wondering
You were doing it right by the way
You were doing it right by the way
It's the burn of the one you can't get past
It's the turn of the leaves overnight
If the words of the maker come too fast
Wait it out, wait it out
How we got so lost I
Don’t know but I still fight
What does it cost
What does it cost to be right

Brave Like You
03:36
|
|||
You say
that you are brave
And I am brave like you
For now
I’ll walk assured
Tarnished by the indifference of the room
Don’t let me see you hide behind your hate now
It’s the only night to come and let your body loose
Don’t let me see you hide behind your hate now
In the low lit light the anger becomes diffused
You say
it won’t be long
before we get to choose
For now the children shave their heads
and grow like thieves from the silence of the room
Don’t let me see you hide behind your hate now
It’s the only night to come and let your body loose
Don’t let me see you hide behind your hate now
In the low lit light the anger becomes diffused

Tremble
03:01
|
|||
Lost my world at sea
Reading the fine print slowly
Ages, those sour pages
Your pretty lines confuse me
The colour drained from your eyes
One look would scar you on the inside
I know you left the letter unsigned but
You can’t deny that
You saw me tremble, say what you gotta say
Two together down in the subway
Through the window, can you really tell me that it’s
Not what it looks like
Lost, you move beside
Some healing heartbeat
Closing in on your pride now
Making your life uneasy
The colour drained from the sky
One look could wreck the love you sail by
I know you left the letter unsigned but
You can’t deny that
You saw me tremble, say what you gotta say
Two together down in the subway
Through the window, can you really tell me that it’s
Not what it looks like
You say she is a friend of yours
You try to pretend
But I’ve got friends
I know how to be friends
I can tell you’re not friends
Maybe we should be friends
You saw me tremble, say what you gotta say
Two together down in the subway
Through the window, can you really tell me that it’s
Not what it looks like

Silent City
03:56
|
|||
Frozen
In a silent city
Steps from the highway
You’re following
You chase a 100 silver pins across the map
You’ll find a way
You’ll find a way to make it back
Let this last love stay here in the crowd
Nothing temporary can get to you now
Wait for the lights
In a silent city
Not a soul in sight
And you know you can
You got no motive you’re the victim and the crime
Don’t shoot to wreck them
It just helps you pass the time
Let this last love stay here in the crowd
Nothing temporary can get to you now
You chase a hundred silver pins across the map
You’ll find a way, you’ll find a way to make it back
You chase a hundred silver pins across the map
Let this last love stay here in the crowd
Nothing temporary can get to you now

Where We Go
03:54
|
|||
No one's here when we're here
No one's here when we're here
In the middle of the night I feel it
In the middle of the coldest night
I don't know why we were brought here
I don't know why we were left here alone
I don't know why we were brought here
No one goes where we go
No one goes where we go
In the middle of the night I hear it
In the middle of the silent night
I don't know why we were brought here
I don't know why we were left here alone
I don't know why we were brought here
Don't tell them where we are, I like it here with you
On the floor where we lie I feel the cold hard truth
Our world is still but for the creak of footsteps up above
They bang on the walls in time to the pounding of your heart on mine love
No one knows what we know
No one knows what we know
In the middle of the night he told me
In the middle of the holy night
I don't know why we were brought here
I don't know why we were left here alone
I don't know why we were brought here
I don't know why we were left here alone

Violet Dreams
03:59
|
|||
I can see her, where she cut her hair
In the backyard, on a lawn chair
Money on the table, smoke in the air
Soon she'd send us somewhere far away
To the concrete and the slow parade
A city that was stable, like a fairytale
Dreams of India
And my mother’s wish
Violent dreams of India
In the warmth of her kiss
Tell the doctor somethings really wrong
If you see him, say you came alone
Land of fables in the end
In the alley they will whisper to you
If you don’t fight, they will take her from you
If you tell the doctor, there’ll be hell
Dreams of India, and my mother’s wish
Violet dreams of India, in the warmth of her kiss
Still don’t remember what I did
Take it back where it all started
Still don’t remember what I did
Take it back where it all started
Dreams of India, in the warmth of her kiss

Til We Lost
03:43
|
|||
Late at night did I hear you come in
From the dark in the alley
I swear I heard you stumbling
Can you call me when you get there somehow
Can you call me so I know you got there
Oh baby I don’t wanna lose you
We ran till we lost our voices
Calling to the night
A fear of the darkness coming
say you’ll follow me there
say you’ll follow me there
I lay last night till I heard you come in
From the dark in the kitchen you look like you’ve been rumblin’
Can’t you call me when you’re staying out late
Can’t you call me I can’t get to sleep
baby I feel I’m gonna lose you
We ran till we lost our voices
Calling to the night
A fear of the darkness coming
say you’ll follow me there
say you’ll follow me there
Never take your word take your word
, by now
It’d be better for you better for me
To let you know that I would
Never take your word take your word
, by now
It’d be better for you better for me
To let you know

One Day
03:37
|
|||
One day they'll come for me
Take my heart deep in the ground
Follow me down with a key
Leave my heart where it won't be found
One day the sun goes black
Shade of the strength we lack
Follow me down to the beach
Feel that sky just out of reach
With you I'm something worth saving
A cold branch that's waiting, waving
With you I'm something worth saving
The dawn we're creating, craving
One day they'll come for me
Take my heart deep in the ground
Follow me down with a key
Leave my heart where it won't be found
With you I'm something worth saving
A cold branch that's waiting, waving
With you I'm something worth saving
The dawn we're creating, craving
One day the sun goes black
Shade of the strength we lack
Follow me down to the beach
Feel that sky just out of reach
With you I'm something worth saving
A cold branch that's waiting, waving
With you I'm something worth saving
The dawn we're creating, craving

Petty Victories Toronto, Ontario
Petty Victories is a fusion of opposites. Front women Colleen Dauncey and Zoe Sky Jordan have rooted their sound in driving,
melody synth lines and smoldering yet sweet harmonies. Though their voices are like night and day, together they are often mistaken for one, earning them a reputation for pleasantly surprising their audiences.
Petty Victories second album is set for release early 2013.
